Welcome to the Holy Cross Orthodox Mission Bookstore

The only Orthodox Christian bookstore in Melbourne’s CBD, is conveniently located in the Holy Cross Mission building near Parliament railway station.

The Holy Cross Bookstore is primarily a missionary outreach making available quality Orthodox Christian literature in English.

We have a wide range of books and items in the Orthodox Christian tradition: prayer books, spiritual reading, catechism lessons, lives of saints, Bibles and Orthodox theology. We also have a good selection of books on patristics, monasticism, Church history, liturgy, and Orthodox spirituality, all from an Orthodox perspective.

The Mission also produces a series of pamphlets (tracts) and booklets on the Orthodox Faith as part of its catechism (instructional) literature. These are available free of charge from the Mission Centre.

The bookstore is open:

Monday, Wednesday & Thursday:    8.30 am to 5.30 pm
Saturday                                           4.30 pm to 6.00 pm
Sunday                                            11.00 am to 12:30 pm
Times are approximate; bookshop is closed during Services

Holy Cross Bookstore is unique in the Orthodox world. We are not subsidized by any jurisdiction’s seminary, nor do we have enormous resources to publish colour catalogues. However, we do offer a well-stocked selection of traditional Orthodox material at reasonable prices. If you can’t visit us in person, email your enquiry.
